Walk

ROAM_Walk

In Spring 2012, for a six week period, Rachel walked around the perimeter of East Anglia (United Kingdom) as part of the artists collective ROAM.

During this time Rachel met with those on her path, maintained a blog of each day’s activities and invited those she met to join a dinner held at the end of each week. Over six weeks, six communal meals were held for strangers united by geography. Rachel’s journey began in her then hometown of Cambridge, walking out from her front door and concluded at Felixstowe, the seaport entrance to the North Sea.

The project concluded with an exhibition at Aid and Abet artspace, Cambridge. The exhibition united and considered the seven new commissions by ROAM collective, created throughout 2012 in locations across East Anglia.

ROAM was a collective of six artists based in the Eastern region of England. The project Roaming was devised as a series of chapters authored by each artist, thematically bound by shared notions of encounters, tales and secrets.

ROAM and Roaming were supported by Arts Council East of England.
